The Junior Altas remained calm and collected after the Greenies made an improbable comeback, cutting the deficit to just four, 85-81, after Perpetual built double-digit separations in the first half.
Leyte cager Jericho Cristino poured in 21 points on of top nine rebounds, two assists and one block while Lebron Jhames Daep put up 14 points and 12 rebounds with one assist and two steals to keep Perpetual unblemished in the early going of the juniors season.
The Junior Altas were ahead in the first three quarters before the Greenies leaned on Gian Gomez and Guillian Quines in the fourth frame as the duo made a last-ditch effort to steal the game.
Quines topscored for Green Hills with 22 points, seven rebounds, three assists and five steals.
Meanwhile, Mapua turned back the defending champion Letran Squires via an 81-73 overtime win, while the Jose Rizal University Light Bombers escaped the Lyceum Junior Pirates 67-64.
