Senatorial aspirant and ACT-CIS Party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo said Wednesday, Feb. 26, that he was ready to face yet another disqualification charge filed against him.
In a statement, Tulfo said he has yet to receive the formal case filed by disbarred lawyer Berteni “Toto” Causing of Graft-Free Philippines Foundation, Inc.
However, he said that as part of the process, he will face the case filed by the lawyer whose “license is suspended and is considered nuisance for the 2025 elections".
“Iginagalang ko po ang kanyang karapatang magsampa ng reklamo at ipinauubaya ko sa Comelec ang paghusga (I respect his right to file charges and I will let the Commission on Elections decide on the case),” he added.
On Feb. 17, the lawmaker and his four relatives who were all seeking public office faced their first disqualification case for being supposedly part of a political dynasty.
But he argued that while it was mentioned in the Constitution, there was still no enabling law that defined or prohibited "political dynasties" in the Philippines.
