P2-M shabu seized from business owner, seafarer in Alabang


Police arrested a business owner and a seafarer after they yielded P2 million worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Alabang, Muntinlupa on Feb. 22. 

The operation was conducted by the Southern Police District’s Drug Enforcement Unit in coordination with the District Intelligence Division and the Muntinlupa Police Substation 3 at 2:10 a.m. beside a hotel on National Road, Alabang. 

The police identified the suspects as alias Rebecca, 46, a business owner; and alias Alejandro, 44, a seafarer, both residents of Muntinlupa and classified by the police as high-value individuals (HVI).

Operatives seized three plastic packs containing shabu, weighing 300 grams valued at P2.04 million, a genuine P1,000 bill and 99 pieces of P1,000 boodle money used as buy-bust money, a cellular phone, and other drug paraphernalia. The pieces of evidence were turned over to the SPD Forensic Unit for analysis. 

The two suspects will be charged for violations of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs), Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs), and Section 26 in relation to Section 5 (conspiracy to sell dangerous drugs) under Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). The complaint will be filed before the Muntinlupa City Prosecutor’s Office. 

Brig. Gen. Manuel Abrugena, SPD district director, lauded the operatives, saying, “This successful operation reflects our commitment to removing illegal drugs from our communities. We will persistently pursue those involved in the drug trade to ensure the safety and well-being of our citizens.”
