Former Miss Universe Philippines 2020 second runner-up Michelle Gumabao and longtime boyfriend PBA coach Aldo Panlilio tied the knot in Makati City on Feb. 25.

Michelle and Aldo married at the National Shrine of the Sacred Heart, Makati City, at 5 p.m. Wedding photos and videos were shared on Creamline Cool Smashers Facebook.

On Aug. 9, 2024, Michelle and Aldo announced their engagement on their eighth anniversary as a couple.

In an interview with ABS-CBN in 2017, Michelle and Aldo recalled their first meeting.

Aldo said: A friend set us up at his restaurant, Sobremesa, in Pasig City. I just tagged along and got invites. I already knew of her, so I gave it a chance. As for why Michele gave it a chance? Maybe because (the restaurant) was near her game. Ha ha!"

Michelle: "What he said! Sabi ko sa kanya punta na lang siya! Ha ha! After that, we just kept talking. We talked everyday—as in, everyday until today! Ha ha!"

They also shared in the same interview how they became close friends.

Aldo: "We talked muna through text, and it caught on from there. We just talked every day. No specific time or event. It just happened. I'd also go watch her games!"

Michelle: "In terms of hanging out, hindi naman agad-agad."

Aldo and Michelle are both Green Archers: Michelle graduated with a Marketing Management degree, while Aldo took up Legal Management studies at De La Salle University and then Diplomatic Affairs at De La Salle College of St. Benilde.

In July, Michelle announced she was returning to show business and expressed interest in pursuing action series or movies.

Michelle also said she had no regrets about joining pageants. In 2018, Michelle was crowned Bb. Pilipinas Globe. And in 2020, she joined Miss Universe Philippines.
