Man tagged in multiple robbery incidents in NCR, Bulacan arrested


A 36-year old man tagged in a multiple holdup and robbery incidents in various parts of Metro Manila and as far as Bulacan was arrested in a follow-up operation in Parañaque City on Monday, Feb. 24.

And Police Brig. Gen. Anthony A. Aberin attributed the successful operation against alias “Bangis” to the information provided by three victims after a holdup incident in Caloocan City on Monday.

Aberin said the background check based on the information relayed by the victim led to the identification and arrest of the suspect in his house in Barangay Baclaran, Parañaque City.

“This is the kind of policing that we want to aspire and deliver in Metro Manila,” said Aberin.

Earlier, police were also able to arrest a man who held up jeepney passengers based on the complaint and description provided by one of the victims. 

In the case of the arrest of “Bangis”, the victim said she and two companions were robbed at knifepoint in Tala, Caloocan City.

Aberin said the victims reported the incident to the Caloocan City Police Station where they provided a detailed description of the suspect. 

He said Further investigation revealed that the suspect matched the profile of a notorious robbery suspect involved in previous cases across North Caloocan, Bulacan, and Quezon City. Upon showing a scanned photo of the suspect, the victims positively identified him.

A follow-up operation led to the suspect’s capture at his residence, where authorities recovered the victim’s stolen wallet and a hand grenade. 

The suspect now faces multiple complaints, including Robbery, Violation of R.A. 9516 (Illegal Possession of Explosives), and Violation of B.P. 881 (Omnibus Election Code).
