Korean wanted for carnapping caught

Police arrested a Korean man wanted for carnapping inside a bar in Barangay Balibago, Angeles City, Pampanga on Sunday, Feb. 23.

The suspect was identified as Jaehoon, 43, a tourist residing in Barangay Cuayan, Angeles City.

Jaehoon was arrested on a warrant for violation of Republic Act 10883 (New Anti-Carnapping Law) issued by Judge Rodrigo Ido del Rosario, Presiding Judge, Angeles City Regional Trial Court Branch 114, dated Nov. 6, 2023. A P300,000 was recommended for the suspect.

Police Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, Police Regional Office-3 chief, lauded arresting units for their achievement.

“This arrest serves as a strong reminder that anyone who violates Philippine laws will be held accountable, regardless of their nationality," she said.

"No one is above the law, and we will continue our relentless pursuit of individuals attempting to evade justice. Let this also serve as a warning to foreigners who think they can break our laws with impunity – Central Luzon will never be a refuge for criminals.”
