Joe Alingasa Jr., head of City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, said that affected households are equivalent to 40 percent of the total population at the city proper.
Water supply was affected in Barangays 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and Rizal since Sunday, he added.
Alingasa said that the tank collects water from the river which is then processed and filtered before being distributed to households. “This is the first time that this happened,” he said.
To address the interruption, Alingasa said that the city is currently conducting rationing to affected areas, pending the completion of repair.
Mayor Rene Gustilo assured affected residents that the city is fast-tracking repair.
