CAMP PRESIDENT QUIRINO, Bantay, Ilocos Sur – Two persons were killed outside a bar in Barangay 8, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur before dawn on Tuesday, Feb. 25.

Police Lt. Col. Reynaldo Mendoza Jr., Vigan chief of police, identified the victims as Robert D. Apanay, 29, of Barangay San Julian, Vigan City, and Kriscell Rosario, 29, of Barangay Tampugo, Tagudin, Ilocos Sur.
Initial investigation said Apanay approached the suspect, Jayson C. Oriente, 30, of Barangay Poblacion, Santol, La Union, who was drinking liquor alone inside the nightspot.
A heated argument erupted between Apanay and Oriente but they were pacified by Rosario. Apanay and his companions left but the suspect followed them outside.
Apanay suddenly stabbed the suspect multiple times outside with a screwdriver. Oriente grabbed a gun from his bag and shot Apanay. Oriente also shot Rosario who went outside before he stumbled to the ground.
Apanay and Rosario were taken to a hospital where they were declared dead from multiple bullet wounds. Oriente was apprehended and taken to a hospital.
Police are conducting follow-up investigation and reviewing closed-circuit television camera footages of the incident.
