Zamboanga City rice farmers receive P9-M equipment

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Mayor John Dalipe and Rep. Mannix Dalipe led the turnover of farm equipment to rice farmers during a ceremony held at the city hall grounds on Monday, Feb. 24.

RICE farmers in Zamboanga City receive new equipment.

The equipment consists of two combined rice harvesters with a total value of P5.2 million and 28 walk-behind transplanters worth P3.9 million.

These harvesters will be donated to two farmers associations while the walk-behind transplanters will be distributed to farmer’s associations in Barangays Tumaga, Ayala, Culianan, Manicahan, Curuan, and Vitali.

Dalipe said that the equipment was funded through the 2024 annual budget.

Rep. Dalipe underscored the importance of assisting farmers to ensure sound food security in Zamboanga City.

Last week, the city government turned over six brand new tractors for farmers' associations in Zamboanga City.
