Chinese automotive brands Omoda and Jaecoo have officially launched in the Philippines, unveiling a lineup of vehicles designed for the modern Filipino driver. As sub-brands of the Chinese automotive manufacturer Chery, Omoda and Jaecoo are specifically created for export markets and are distributed locally by Omoda & Jaecoo Philippines.

The launch event, held at the BGC Arts Center on February 18, featured the Omoda C5, Omoda E5 EV, and Jaecoo EJ6 EV as the initial offerings for the Philippine market.
Two years of preparation
Before their official introduction, Omoda and Jaecoo spent 2023 and 2024 establishing their presence in the Philippine automotive scene. Last year, they participated in significant industry events such as the Manila International Auto Show, the 12th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit, and the Auto Focus Pre-Christmas Multi-Brand Test Drive Festival. This period was also dedicated to building a nationwide dealership network and forming partnerships with key financial and logistics companies to prepare for their formal market entry.
Omoda: Merging style and technology
Omoda's vehicle lineup reflects its "Art in Motion" design philosophy, which seamlessly blends aesthetics with innovation. The Omoda C5, a compact crossover, showcases a futuristic 'Cross F Future' design characterized by sharp lines and advanced technology. It is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine that delivers 156-PS and 230-Nm of torque. Its electric counterpart, the Omoda E5 EV, is the brand's first all-electric vehicle in the Philippines, powered by a single electric motor generating 204-PS and a robust 400-Nm of torque.
The Omoda C5 is offered in three variants: the 1.5T Luxury priced at ₱1,179,000.00, the 1.5T Comfort at ₱1,059,000.00, and the 1.5L Lifestyle at ₱898,000.00. The Omoda E5 EV, featuring an extended-range battery, is priced at ₱1,699,000.00. These promotional prices are valid until June 30, 2025.
Jaecoo: Off-road capability meets electrification
Jaecoo, on the other hand, focuses on off-road and adventure-ready electric vehicles. The Jaecoo EJ6, an all-electric SUV, is designed to offer a rugged yet premium experience suitable for various terrains. The vehicle is available in multiple color options, including green, black, white, and gray. Its all-wheel-drive (AWD) version produces 275-PS and 385-Nm of torque from dual electric motors. The 69.77-kWh battery provides a claimed range of 421-kilometers and can also deliver 3.3-kW for its vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality. The Jaecoo EJ6 comes in two variants: the AWD Premium, with a choice of brown or black interior, priced at ₱1,799,000.00, and the rear-wheel-drive (RWD) Premium, featuring a black interior priced at ₱1,649,000.00.

Additionally, Jaecoo previewed its upcoming hybrid SUV, the J7 SHS, which incorporates the brand's Super Hybrid System, featuring a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine that powers the front wheels.
Beyond vehicles

The launch event illustrated Omoda and Jaecoo's vision beyond traditional automotive offerings. The Omoda lineup was showcased in a fashion-show-inspired presentation, while the Jaecoo EJ6 was displayed in a rugged outdoor setup to highlight its off-road capabilities. A Light Up Ceremony featuring the EJ6's V2L functionality further underscored the vehicle's technological prowess. After two years of re-establishing their presence in the local market, the brands’ official debut in the Philippines aims to position Omoda and Jaecoo as significant players, offering vehicles that blend modern design, innovative technology, and sustainable mobility.
