President Marcos joined in prayer for the health of Pope Francis who remained in critical condition.

Marcos issued a statement on Monday afternoon, Feb. 24, joining the call for prayers for the Pope.
"Nakakalungkot na marinig ang malubhang karamdaman ni Pope Francis. Sa mga sandaling ito, kaisa tayo ng buong mundo sa panalangin para sa kanyang kalakasan at paggaling (It is saddening to hear about Pope Francis' serious illness. In these moments, we are one with the whole world in praying for his strength and recovery)," Marcos said.
"Nawa’y patuloy siyang patnubayan at palakasin ng Panginoon upang magpatuloy sa kanyang misyon ng pananampalataya at pagmamahal sa sangkatauhan (May the Lord continue to guide and strengthen him so that he may carry on with his mission of faith and love for humanity)," the President added.
The Vatican said in its latest update that the 88-year-old pontiff remained in critical condition Sunday and blood tests showed early kidney failure, but he remains alert.
