First Lady leads testimonial dinner for 12 new WVSU lawyers


ILOILO CITY – First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos graced the recent testimonial dinner for 12 new lawyers from the West Visayas State University here.

The First Lady, who has been teaching law since 2022 at WVSU, posted photos of last week’s testimonial dinner for the first batch of lawyers who graduated from WVSU, the first state university in Western Visayas region to offer law degree, in her Facebook account.

The 12 lawyers who graduated from WVSU College of Law were Rene Aviles Jr., Stephen S. Barredo, Alyssa Jane Diaz, Apple Joy M. Faminiano, Clyde Ben Gacayan, Mike Gabriel G. Guillem, Darryl Ben Llado, Philipp Centenni L. Ruel, Kristelle Joy S. Sarrosa, Jezner Ralph Sasi, Vanessa G. Silla, and Edson Chase H. Yap.

The WVSU conferred a Doctor of Laws honoris causa degree) to the First Lady last June.

The First Lady has roots in Iloilo. Her father, Manuel Araneta Jr., is from Iloilo City while her mother, Milagros Ledesma Cacho, has roots from Iloilo and Negros.
