Disney+ to stream 97th Oscars in PH

Disney+ will be streaming the 97th Oscars live and exclusive to Filipinos on March 3.

The Academy Awards ceremony will be held at Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, drawing Hollywood’s biggest names to celebrate the best in film.

The ceremony kicks off with the red carpet at 7:30 a.m. PHT (Philippine time), followed by the awards ceremony at 8 a.m. PHT.

Hosting the Oscars for the first time is Emmy Award-winning television host, writer, producer and comedian Conan O’Brien.

There are 15 nominations under The Walt Disney Studios (20th Century Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, Searchlight Pictures, and Walt Disney Studios), content brands (Disney Branded Television and National Geographic Documentary Films), and platforms (Disney+ and Hulu).

- “Sugarcane” (National Geographic Documentary Films) – Documentary Feature Film

- “Elton John: Never Too Late” (Disney Branded Television) – Music (Original Song) ("Never Too Late")

- “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” (20th Century Studios) – Visual Effects

In cinemas

- “A Complete Unknown* (Searchlight Pictures) – Best Picture, Directing, Actor in a Leading Role, Actor in a Supporting Role, Actress in a Supporting Role, Writing (Adapted Screenplay), Costume Design, Sound (To be released in Philippine cinemas on Feb. 26)

- “A Real Pain” (Searchlight Pictures) – Actor in a Supporting Role, Writing (Original Screenplay) (now showing in Ayala Malls)

The replay of the 97th Oscars will be available on Disney+ immediately after the live streaming.
