ZAMBOANGA CITY – Three suspected drug pushers were arrested and shabu valued at P15.6 million was seized in a buy-bust operation here on Monday, Feb. 24.

THREE suspected drug pushers were apprehended in a buy-bust operation in Zamboanga City on Feb. 24.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-9 Director Maharani R. Gadaoni-Tosoc identified the suspects as factory workers Aharayam Jaidi, 66, and Nurhayna Sampang, 30, both women, and Maeng Omar, 42, a male driver.
Two other male suspects fired at arresting officers and escaped on board a pickup truck.
Lawmen returned fire and pursued the suspects. Police recovered the pickup truck abandoned by the suspects in Barangay Santa Catalina here.
Seized from the arrested suspects were 47 sachets of shabu weighing 2.3 kilograms with a standard drug price of P15.6 million, red Piaggio vehicle, and the boodle money.
Meanwhile, authorities recovered suspected shabu valued at P6.8 million and arrested a drug pusher in a buy-bust operation in Luuk town, Sulu province on Sunday, Feb. 23.
The suspect was identified as Almejer O. Jikuron, a resident of Barangay Mananti, Luuk.
Jikuron and the contraband are in the custody of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
The four suspects face charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
