LIPA CITY, Batangas – A 35-year-old construction worker allegedly stabbed his live-in partner to death then killed himself on Saturday night, Feb. 22, in Barangay San Jose here.

The Police Regional Office-4 identified the couple as Joel and Crizelle, 29.
Investigation said Joel grabbed a knife during a heated argument inside their room and stabbed Criselle multiple times.
Joel stabbed himself in the chest and stomach then hanged himself with a nylon cord tied to the iron grill of their double deck bed.
They were taken to a hospital where they were declared dead.
Police recovered the knife and a nylon cord in the room.
Meanwhile, a 55-year-old truck driver was pinned to death in a road accident in Barangay Tanauan, Real, Quezon on Saturday afternoon.
Police identified the fatality as Roberto.
Investigation said Roberto’s 12-wheel dump truck loaded with gravel and sand lost its brakes on a curved portion of the road.
His two helpers jumped out of the truck and left the victim who tried but failed to control the vehicle. The victim jumped out of the truck but it tilted to the left and pinned him down.
Police said Roberto died on the spot and his body was torn into pieces.
Follow-up investigation on both cases are underway.
