Cloudy skies, rain expected in Luzon and Visayas due to 3 weather systems
The shear line, the northeast monsoon—locally known as "amihan"—and the easterlies are expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers to parts of Luzon and the Visayas on Sunday, Feb. 23, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

In its weather forecast, PAGASA said the shear line is affecting Palawan and the Visayas, while the "amihan" is influencing weather conditions across the rest of Luzon.
Palawan and the Visayas will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the shear line, according to PAGASA.
The easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms to Caraga, the Davao Region, the Zamboanga Peninsula, Sarangani, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.
Meanwhile, the rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.
The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies and rain to Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, the Bicol Region, Aurora, and Quezon.
The "amihan" will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains to Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.
