The local government of Malolos City, Bulacan officially opened the “Iskulimpiks 2025” at the Sports and Convention Center on Friday, Feb. 21.

The event dubbed “Pagpapatuloy ng Kasaysayan, Kahusayan, at Kadakilaan.”
According to city officials, the event showcases the talents and knowledge of students from various schools across Malolos.
Aside from sports, it also features art and science competitions that promote a deeper appreciation of the country’s culture and history.

Mayor Christian Natividad emphasized that Iskulimpiks 2025 aims to strengthen the identity of Filipino youth through sports, art, and science.
Joining Natividad at the opening ceremony were Senator Risa Hontiveros, Jose Manuel “Attorney Chel” Icasiano Diokno, and Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV, who underscored the importance of preserving Filipino history and culture.
Hontiveros commended the Malolos City government for its continued efforts in promoting the country’s rich cultural heritage.
"Hindi lang ito basta patimpalak, ito ay pagkakataon na mas palalimin pa ang ating ugnayan sa ating kasaysayan, kultura, at mga larong ating nilaro, musikang ating pinakikinggan, sayaw, wika, at samahan. Lahat ito ay nagpapatunay na ang ating pagkakaisa ay hindi lamang nasa ating dugo, kundi nasa ating puso (This is not just a competition; it is an opportunity to deepen our connection to our history, culture, the games we played, the music we listen to, the dances, language, and camaraderie we share. All of these prove that our unity is not only in our blood but also in our hearts)," she said.
The Iskulimpiks 2025 lineup includes historical races, traditional games, songwriting competitions, choral recitations, historical dances, a history quiz, and the presentation of Ginoo at Binibini Campus Idol winners.
The event was also attended by Vice Mayor Miguel Alberto Bautista, Councilors Troi Aldaba III, John Vincent “JV” Vitug III, Michael “Ninong” Aquino, and Emmanuel “Noel” Sacay; Chief of Staff Fernando Durupa; Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Sports head Gertudes de Castro; Deputy Officer-in-Charge Rommel Santiago; and Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) Dr. Leilani Cunanan, CESO V.
