According to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), the drivers involved were identified as Thadeus Sandoval, 49; Sunwong Yu, 74; and Joshua Rañola, 32.
The incident occurred around 6:10 a.m. at the intersection of Kamias Road and Kasing-Kasing Street in Barangay East Kamias.
The crash involved a mini dump truck, a sedan, and a hatchback.
Police said Rañola was driving the mini dump truck westbound on Kamias Road, coming from Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) and heading to Anonas Road.
As he approached the intersection, the right front side of his truck collided with the left front side of Sandoval's hatchback.
Sandoval was making a left turn to Kamias Road from a gasoline station, heading toward EDSA.
Following the initial collision, the truck continued forward and struck the side of Yu’s sedan on Kasing-Kasing Street and preparing to turn left to Kamias Road toward EDSA.
The impact pushed the sedan to the sidewalk, crashing into a steel railing.
All three vehicles sustained damage.
Sandoval and the American national were injured and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Authorities said charges will be filed once all evidence has been gathered.
