Public school teacher falls in drug bust

CEBU CITY – A public school teacher was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Poblacion Occidental, Consolacion town, Cebu province.

Jedeestel Luvite Pernito, 50, and his two alleged cohorts, Jerom Casipong Nuevo, 23, and Clint Cuyos Gersale, 25, were cornered past midnight on Friday, Feb. 21.

Police Lt. Col. Eunil B. Avergonzado, chief of the Consolacion Police Station, said 12 packs of suspected shabu weighing 30 grams with an estimated value of P204,000 were recovered from the suspects.

Police said Pernito was considered a high-value individual in the illegal drugs trade.
