The Muntinlupa Police Substation 7 in Cupang, in coordination with a SWAT team and police operatives, implemented the search warrant issued on Feb. 17 by Executive Judge Liezel Aquiatan of the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 205.
During the operation, the police confiscated a .38-caliber revolver without a serial number and three live rounds of ammunition.
The operation was witnessed by barangay officials and a media representative. The police said the confiscation of the firearm is part of the campaign to curb the proliferation of unregistered weapons.
Brig. Gen. Manuel Abrugena, district director of the Southern Police District, commended the Muntinlupa Police, saying, “We must remain vigilant against criminal elements that pose a threat to public safety. I urge individuals in possession of unlicensed firearms to comply with the law and support our campaign against loose firearms."
