Organizers are expecting thousands to attend the Cebu People’s Indignation Rally to protest the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte and the supposed massive corruption plaguing the country.

Hakbang ng Maisug Cebu members who are organizing the event said the rally will start at 4:30 p.m. and may end at 11 p.m.

Duterte’s presence may extend the event beyond the expected duration, organizers said.

Organizers have coordinated with concerned authorities to ensure security of the participants and smooth flow of traffic in the area.

Road closures and rerouting schemes will be implemented to pave the way for the event.

Hakbang ng Maisug Cebu members June Abines and EB Jugalbot, Atty. Irene Caballes of Transparency, Accountability, Peace, and Security, and Cathy Maluya, former director of the Office of Participatory Government, confirmed Duterte’s attendance.

Organizers said the rally is not a political event but they confirmed that a representative of jailed senatorial candidate Pastor Apollo Quiboloy and personalities aligned with the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Laban have been invited.

PDP-Laban senatorial candidates Rodante Marcoleta and Vic Rodriguez will also be in the event.
