Job seekers in Legazpi City and nearby areas were given access to more than 11,600 local and overseas employment opportunities at a job fair organized by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Friday, Feb. 21.
The event, held in partnership with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), was scheduled at the Ibalong Center for Recreation from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring job openings in both the private and public sectors.
DOLE said a total of 86 employers, including government agencies, were participating in the event, led by the Philippine Army, which is offering 2,829 slots for new recruits.
Opportunities span various industries, including positions for store clerks, service crew, call center agents, and cargo service workers, while applicants from neighboring municipalities were also encouraged to apply.
Job seekers were advised to bring multiple copies of their resumes, valid identification cards, and other necessary documents to facilitate the application process.
DOLE emphasized that the initiative aligns with President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s directive to expand access to employment opportunities through nationwide job fairs.
