Paulo Avelino and Kim Chiu: Closer than ever
At a glance

Rumored sweethearts Paulo Avelino and Kim Chiu, collectively known as KimPau, have admitted they are closer than before.
Paulo and Kim shared their thoughts about being closer during the grand press conference for their romantic-comedy film "My Love Will Make You Disappear," held at ABS-CBN on Feb. 19. Both stars said they did not expect to collaborate.
"Hindi ko alam na makakatrabaho ko ito sa 18 years sa industry. Kelan ba ako nag 16 years na pagiging artista? Kasi sabay kaming nag-simula. Mas matanda ka lang sa akin. (I didn't know I would be able to work with him after 18 years in the industry. When did I become an artist for 16 years? Because we started together. You're just older than me)," said Kim when asked if she expected to become closer to Paulo.

(I've been watching you on Starstruck. You were even dancing then. I actually voted (for you)."
Paulo mentioned that he did not anticipate having the opportunity to work with Kim.
"I never did. Hindi ko nga alam na makatrabaho ko si Kim. But I wanted to work with her. Never ko talagang inexpect kasi after a while, nag-iba na rin yung tahak ng mga gusto kong gawin. So hindi ko alam na kay Kim pala ang bagsak ko. (I didn't know I would work with Kim. But I wanted to work with her. I never really expected it because after a while, the direction of what I wanted to do changed. So I didn't know that I ended up with Kim)," the actor said.
“My Love Will Make You Disappear” is Kim and Paulo’s first movie project together after headlining the hit series “Linlang” and “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim.” It also serves as Kim and Paulo’s return to ABS-CBN Films after four years.
In August 2024, Kim surprised fans by announcing that she and Paulo would be starring in the movie "My Love Will Make You Disappear."
“Dahil nadala na namin kayo sa TV, sa tour, ngayon sasabihin na namin, may isang malaking regalo kami ni Paulo sa inyo kasama ang Star Cinema ang 'My Love Will Make You Disappear.' (Since we have already brought you to TV, to tour, now we will say, Paulo and I have a big gift for you with Star Cinema: 'My Love Will Make You Disappear)," Kim said during the announcement on “It’s Showtime.”

Director Chad Vidanes said that the film is a different kind of romcom with classic elements but unique characteristics, and teased excited fans that it will show "how the magic of love makes you wild and fun.”
“Pre-pandemic pa ata yung huli tayong nagkaroon ng true blue romcom from Star Cinema. Kaya ngayong taon, magiging part tayo [nito]. Nakaka-excite dahil sa inyo. (It was probably pre-pandemic when we last had a true blue romcom from Star Cinema. So this year, we will be a part of it. It’s exciting because of you)," Direk shared.
The film was conceptualized by Prime Cruz and written by Patrick Valencia and Isabella Policarpio. It will be shown in cinemas nationwide beginning March 26.
