Professional surfer Philmar Alipayo just reached a new milestone having earned 1 Million Facebook followers.

Philmar expressed heartfelt gratitude to fans and family.

"Salamat karajaw naka abot nata sa 1M. ma pasalamaton ako karajaw sa mga nag supporta sanan nag sobaybay sa ako, padajon rata gihapon (Maraming salamat, nakaabot na tayo sa 1M. Lubos akong nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng sumuporta at tumutok sa akin. Tuloy-tuloy lang tayo!)" Philmar said.

Although it was supposed to be a celebratory moment for the Siargao-based surfer, some netizens teased Philmar via the comment section that the only reason he got a million followers was because of his controversial spat with partner Andi Eigenmann.

It all started with Philmar getting a matching "224" tattoo with Swedish photographer Pernilla Sjoo.

It supposedly translates to "2Today, 2Tomorrow, 4Forever."

Philmar and Andi have since reconciled.

He suprised the latter on Valentine's Day with a bouquet of flowers made from banana blossoms and leaves.
