CEBU CITY – The Department of Education-Central Visayas (DepEd-7) assured that there are no ghost beneficiaries under its Senior High School Voucher Program (SHSVP).

DepEd-7 Regional Director Salustiano Jimenez issued the clarification amid the ongoing investigation of supposed fake student enrollments involving 12 private schools across nine divisions in various regions.
Jimenez said DepEd-7 has conducted thorough validation and strict monitoring to prevent such irregularities from happening.
“I can’t talk about other regions, but for Region 7, what we do to make sure this won’t happen, we really made it clear to our officers to double check as well as validate aside from our monitoring,” Jimenez told MyTV Cebu.
Education Secretary Sonny Angara warned that administrative and criminal sanctions will be imposed against erring schools.
Revocation of accreditation is one of the possible sanctions that may be imposed if a school is found to have ghost voucher program beneficiaries.
DepEd has assured that despite the controversy, legitimate students under the voucher program will continue to receive financial assistance ranging from P8,750 to P22,500.
