'Jobless pero naka-condo': Cops arrest 2 'drug pushers' in Makati City buy-bust
Operatives of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) seized around P8.8 million worth of shabu following the arrest of two suspected big-time drug pushers in a buy-bust in Makati City on Wednesday, Feb. 19.
NCRPO director Brig. Gen. Anthony A. Aberin said the operation was carried out inside a condominium unit in Barangay San Antonio where the suspects met with the police poseur buyers.
“The suspects were apprehended after an undercover officer made a purchase of a vacuum-sealed foil pack deceptively labeled as freeze-dried durian, which contained the illegal substance,” said Aberin.
Police confiscated the illegal drugs after the suspects, a 28-year old unemployed male and 28-year old unemployed female, received the marked money and the boodle money.
Aberin said the arrested suspects are currently in police custody and are facing serious charges of violating Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
"This high-impact anti-drug operation hits the core of the illegal drug supply in Makati and neighboring areas. I commend the operatives for this operational milestone,” said Aberin.
“Let us continue to work closely with the community in our comprehensive, aggressive and procedure-based campaign against illegal drugs," he added.
