BACOLOD CITY – A third year college student was killed in a hit-and-run incident in Barangay Magallon Cadre, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, Feb. 19.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, Feb. 20, the Central Philippines State University (CPSU)-Moises Padilla Campus confirmed the death of 22-year-old Deserie Tadena.
Reports said the victim was hit by a motorcycle while sitting on a motorcycle parked by her uncle at the roadside. The victim crashed to the ground and sustained severe head injuries.
Police Major Romulo Gepilango, Moises Padilla police chief, said that her family has yet to report the incident to the police.
Moises Padilla Vice Mayor Ian Villaflor, who responded to the accident, called on the motorcyclist to surrender. He urged the people to report the identity of the rider to authorities.
The university condoled with the family of Tadena and hopes justice will be served.
