BACOLOD CITY – Granadianz regained the title in the Bacolaodiat Festival Street and Lantern Dance Competition here on Sunday, Feb. 2.
The group representing Barangay Granada bested four other contingents in the competition held during the culmination of the 20th edition of the festival.

Granadianz bagged P100,000 and won Best in Lantern.
Choreographer Joedem Casabuena thanked people who supported the group. “I’m very proud of my team because of their dedication and perseverance,” he said.
Granadianz has been competing for 16 years starting 2007. They last won in 2023.
In a Facebook post, Barangay Granada Chairman Armando Vito congratulated them for their achievement.
“Once again, you have proven that Barangay Granada is the sanctuary of hardworking and talented people,” he said.
Jojaju, last year’s winner, was second and received P80,000. They also won Best in Costume. The Luminaries was third and bagged P60,000.
The two other participants were Estefania Dance Troupe and CHMSU-Alijis which was named the Netizens' Choice Award.
The competition was first held on Lacson St. on Feb. 1 as part of the highlights of the festival. Participants wowed the audience with light displays and storytelling through movement.
Each team featured intricate lantern designs and vibrant LEDs, symbolizing hope, good fortune, and the Filipino-Chinese cultural bond.
The top three finalists competed at SM City Bacolod where they each showcased their performances that blended tradition and the rich Filipino-Chinese heritage that Bacolaodiat upholds.
Meanwhile, Mark Anthony Tronggoy won the 2025 Bacolaodiat Snake Emperor and Empress Costume-Making Contest. Marlo Española and Jordan Parcon placed second and third place, respectively.
