CEBU CITY – Two men, including a retired US Navy personnel, were killed in a gun attack in Barangay Punta Princesa here on Tuesday night, Feb. 18.

Nicardo Nombrado, 59, and former US Navy serviceman George Kyle Lucas, 39, succumbed to bullet wounds.
The perpetrator, Kevin Asia, was wounded in the incident and was arrested by the police.
Investigation said that the attack happened when Asia barged into a compound past 7 p.m.
Residents noticed the presence of the intruder and asked him to leave. Instead of leaving, Asia got irked and created a scene inside the compound.
After noticing the commotion, an armed Lucas went out of the house to reprimand Asia.
Asia continued his rowdy behavior and grabbed the baseball bat that Nombrado was holding.
Trouble escalated when Asia started assaulting responding police inside the compound.
Police said Asia tried attacking Lucas who fought back by shooting the intruder in the knee with a 9mm pistol.
Asia was wounded and grappled for the gun and successfully wrested it from Lucas who ran inside the house.
Police said Asia shot Nombrado and chased Lucas inside the house and shot him there.
The suspect tried to flee but was cornered and lynched by residents.
Police Major Timothy Jim Romanillos, chief of the Labangon Police Station, said it was possible that the suspect was high on illegal drugs during the incident.
Police said double murder charges will be filed against the suspect who was taken to a hospital after he was arrested.
