Man found dead under footbridge along España Boulevard

An unidentified male was found dead under the footbridge along España Boulevard, Barangay 471, Sampaloc, Manila, on Feb. 19.
The incident was reported at 1:45 p.m., though it occurred at approximately 1:25 p.m.
The victim was described as a male wearing a yellow t-shirt, gray long pants, and black shoes.
He was found lying on the pavement with blood oozing from his head.
He was later declared dead at the scene.
Witness Mark Lester Angeles, 31, reported that he was riding his bicycle when he heard a sound resembling a falling object.
Upon checking, he discovered the victim’s body on the pavement and immediately sought assistance.
Responding to the incident were officers from the Manila Police District, who arrived at the scene at approximately 1:55 p.m.
Upon their arrival, the victim was declared to have no vital signs.
The case has been forwarded to the MPD Homicide Section.
Meanwhile, the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Central Student Council has issued a statement urging students to seek professional guidance if they are experiencing distress.
The student council also requested that students refrain from circulating photos, videos, or any related materials, out of respect for those involved in the incident.
“This is a time for understanding, not speculation,” the statement reads.
“We encourage our fellow students to be mindful of the impact that circulating such material can have on those closely connected to the incident and on the community at large.
