PJ Tri-Gon Realty Corp., international artist and visionary sculptor Genesis “Jinggoy” Lascano Buensuceso, and the local government unveiled the entry statement installation.

In a message read by Florencio Thaddeus Valero, executive assistant for IGACOS economic affairs, Mayor Al David Uy thanked PJ Tri-Gon and Samal Shores Residenza for being a dependable partner for development.

Uy said the remarkable sculpture, crafted by Buensuceso, serves as a symbolic entry to Samal Island’s inaugural township like any other international city and reflects the community’s contemporary tropical style.

Standing five meters tall and 7.1 meters wide, Buensuceso said that his masterpiece – made from 316 stainless steel – symbolizes Samal’s movement, culture, and life and reflects the island’s deep connection to the sea.

He described the sculpture’s intricate textures and fluid form as a theatrical representation of water’s rhythm, emphasizing that, like the waves, the islanders’ journey is one of movement, transformation, and boundless blessings.

“There is no greater inspiration than water. Water is the most important element of Samal Island. The sea is the way of life of the people on this island – production, sustenance, and livelihood,” he added.

PJ Tri-Gon Business Development and Special Projects Vice President Celedonio Pile Jr. said the unveiling of the sculpture marks a significant milestone in the development of the Samal Shores Residenza.

“We, as developers, always considered art pieces part of building a community. In building cities now, a public art piece is a key ingredient in building good cities. Life reflects art, and art reflects life. The Language of Water reflects Samal life,” Pile said.

Samal Shores Residenza said the masterpiece serves as the centerpiece of the 3,000-square-meter park featuring landscaped gardens, seating areas, and interactive elements for residents and visitors.

The company unveiled the sculpture  through an interpretative dance performance by Ea Torrado.  The event was also attended by Discovery Samal President Beatriz Gonzalez Magallanes and real estate brokers.

Guests participated in a symbolic ritual by floating paper boats on the water, signifying moving on and embracing renewal, following Torrado's dance performance and Buensuceso’s poetry about his masterpiece for the island and its people.
