NorthPort guard Fran Yu vehemently denied hurting a barangay official after getting involved in a heated altercation that stemmed from an alleged parking violation.

In a report from ABS-CBN News, Yu was accused of pushing a barangay watchman who called out the basketball player for parking his motorcycle in a non-parking zone.
The two had a heated argument before the watchman seemingly lost his balance and fell to the gutter – an exchange which a barangay councilor identified as Victorino Farrales saw and confronted Yu for it.
Yu and Farrales had another heated argument, which, according to the report, resulted in the latter sustaining facial injuries after the altercation.
Yu’s involvement in the controversy comes with the Batang Pier gearing up for their semifinals matchup against Barangay Ginebra in the PBA Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup.
