WNBA champion Sabrina Ionescu is coming to Manila

WNBA champion and New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu is coming to Manila as part of her first ever Asia tour.

WNBA champion and New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu is coming to Manila as part of her first-ever Asia tour.

Aside from Manila, the sweet shooting guard is also making stops in Guangzhou, China and Hong Kong as she hopes to provide inspiration to young female athletes to dream big and turn those into reality in the future.

“I’m excited to connect with basketball fans across Manila, Guangzhou and Hong Kong, especially young hoopers. You can feel their passion for the game, even from New York,” said

Ionescu's trip is backed by sporting apparel giant Nike.

“Together we will celebrate the game, and I hope we inspire each other to achieve our dreams with dedication, commitment and hard work,” she added.

Ionescu will have a panel talk about breaking barriers and defying stereotypes along with fellow Nike athletes and coaches at the Nike Fort in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig on March 10.

A basketball clinic at the Courtyard as well as the formal launch of her Nike Sabrina 2 collaboration are also in the schedule for the WNBA star.

Ionescu is also set to share the stage with some of the Philippines’ best professional and collegiate players for an exhibition game and a three-point shootout challenge at the famed Araneta Coliseum on March 11.
