Truck helper dies after jumping from truck with faulty brake in Antipolo
A truck helper died after jumping from a 10-wheeler truck that allegedly lost its brakes and crashed into concrete barriers and a footbridge post in Antipolo City, Rizal on Tuesday, Feb. 18.

Antipolo City Mayor Jun Ynares said the delivery truck was traveling from Cogeo toward Masinag Intersection and was seen speeding and crashing into dozens of concrete barriers at around 4 a.m.
In a video footage, the truck was seen driving past the intersection, hitting more concrete barriers and then striking a tricycle.
According to reports, the truck helper, whose identity was not disclosed, may have panicked, causing him to jump from the truck.
Ynares stated that his bad fall resulted in his immediate death.
Meanwhile, the truck driver, who sustained minor injuries, said he crashed into the post to avoid causing more harm to others.
The driver was taken to the hospital for treatment and later brought into police custody for investigation.
Authorities confirmed that aside from the tricycle, no other individuals were affected in the accident.
Ynares said the truck was towed and the barriers were cleared at around 7 a.m. to restore to normal the traffic situation in the area.
