CARMONA CITY, Cavite – The certificate of successful negotiations and original proponent status for a planned South-Luzon Integrated Terminal Exchange (SLITX) Project was signed at the Carmona City Hall on Monday, Feb. 17.
A collaboration between the local government unit of Carmona and Megawide Onemobility Corporation, the project aims to establish a state-of-the-art transport hub that will streamline commuter travel across South Luzon and nearby provinces.
Present during the ceremonial signing were Cavite 5th District Roy M. Loyola, Mayor Dahlia A. Loyola, Carmona Public-Private Partnership Unit City Legal Officer and Chairperson Marco Paulo E. Taruc, Megawide Business Development Director Milestill Young, Megawide Chief Business Development Officer Jaime Raphael Feliciano, and Carmona Local Economic Investment Promotions Office Head Deogracias A. Peñano Jr.
Rep. Loyola said the project will offer convenience to commuters traversing South Luzon.
“Lahat ng mga sasakyan na dumaraan sa South Luzon Expressway dahil dikit naman ito, makikinabang lahat ng biyahe mula Sorsogon, Bicol, Quezon, Batangas, Laguna (All vehicles passing through SLEX will benefit from this since it is directly connected, including trips from Sorsogon, Bicol, Quezon, Batangas, and Laguna),” Rep. Loyola told the media.
He also emphasized that the project will not only help ease heavy traffic congestion but also decentralize business and commercial development in Metro Manila.
“Ito na ang panahon para suportahan natin, ilabas natin yung commercial and business district outside Metro Manila para lumuwag ang Metro Manila, para ang mga taga-probinsya, hindi na ppupunta sa Metro Manila (This is the time to support and develop commercial and business districts outside Metro Manila to ease congestion in Metro Manila. This way, people from the provinces no longer need to travel to Metro Manila).”
