It was the saddest day for YouTube vlogger and influencer Small Laude and her family last Feb. 5 as the entire family buried their father Andres Eduardo.

As a resident host and comedian for the events of her sister Alice, I paid my respects in the last mass in Santuario de San Antonio. I have never seen the family so sad because the Eduardos were always happy.

But Feb. 8 was different as they bid goodbye to the patriarch of the Eduardos for the last time. I am honored to have met and bonded several times with Dadeh, and he has this sense of humor that you would instantly get if you’re a comedian or have known him for quite some time. The truth is, I find his humor hilarious. Small released a tribute video last Monday for her “Dadeh” as the family fondly showed the good times and how he would play around with Small. Take, for example, the clip in her vlog where she is wearing a beautiful pink designer dress and invites Dadeh to eat, and he says, “Ayoko kasi kasama ka.” That’s his humor. Or when he follows Small around Sephora in the U.S. then he says, “Ayoko ng kasama kita.”

Alice said something very touching in her interview with Ka Tunying Anthony Taberna. “Huwag nating pababayaan ang mga magulang natin. (Don't forget to take care of your parents). The president and CEO of Sta. Elena Construction was one of the keys to Dadeh’s long life. She told Anthony that Dadeh did not want to eat anymore after his surgery in Singapore but would do so whenever Ate Alice would be there. He was exhausted but was fighting his life for the sake of his children and wife, Mommy Elisa.

Small’s vlog has garnered over one million views in just two days. At the end of the video, Small tells everyone about her father during the wake: “He lived a full life. He did everything, the things that made him happy.  So now I am saying goodbye to Lolo … My message to Lolo is … Lolo, rest well, and I know you’ll be in heaven. I  will always pray to the Lord to bless him and be with my dad. Huwag niya pababayaan si Dad.”

Rest well in heaven, Dadeh. You made a difference in this world. Thank you for giving us Ate Alice and Small.
