Vince Paras made quick work of India’s Mohammed Shamim with a third-round knockout victory on Sunday, Feb. 16, in their bout in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

The General Santos native was aggressive from the get-go, knocking down his taller foe in the first two rounds with furious left hooks before sending a devastating straight in the third that sent Shamim to the canvas.
The blow was enough to force the referee to halt the match, allowing Paras to improve his record to 23-3-1.
Shamim, for his part, dropped to 6-6-0.
As a former challenger for the World Boxing Council (WBC) International light flyweight crown and the International Boxing Federation (IBF) mini flyweight belt, Paras’ ultimate goal is to secure a world title in the near future which his promoter Sanman Boxing believes is within reach.
"Vince demonstrated that he is at the world-class level. In 2025, we look forward to a world title shot,” said Sanman Boxing CEO Jim Claude Manangquil.
The 5-foot-3 boxer is currently ranked fifth in the IBF flyweight rankings and 11th in the WBC flyweight division.
