SANTOL, La Union – Sen. Imee R. Marcos led the inauguration on Valentine’s Day of a newly constructed 50-meter bridge on the Santol-San Gabriel (La Union)-Kapangan (Benguet) Road in Barangay Mangaan here.

SEN. Imee Marcos opened this newly constructed bridge in Santol, La Union.
The bridge that cost P118.8 million to build has three spans of 15 meters, 20 meters, and 15 meters and supported by two piers and two abutments for enhanced structural stability.
It has a Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) pavement on the approaches, measuring 52.40 meters (Approach A) and 83.40 meters (Approach B) along with slope protection measures to prevent erosion and ensure long-term durability.
The bridge will stimulate economic activities in the region by providing a shorter, faster, and more cost-effective transport system in the town of Santol and San Gabriel, La Union. It will also play a vital role in strengthening trade and business ties between the Ilocos region and Cordillera Administrative Region.
The inauguration was attended by Santol Mayor Magno A. Wailan.
The project was implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways-Ilocos led by Director Ronnel M. Tan.
