To prevent the spread of dengue, the Muntinlupa CHO implements ovi trapping in elementary schools. Ovitraps are designed to trap mosquito eggs.
The CHO also implements search and destroy of mosquito breeding sites, intensive integrated vector control of larviciding and space spraying, and health education to increase awareness on the prevention and control of dengue. Clean-up drives are regularly done in barangays.
The DOH reported 28,234 dengue cases as of Feb. 1, a 40-percent increase from 2024.
From Jan. 5 to 18 this year, 15,088 dengue cases were reported, up by eight percent compared to 13,980 cases recorded from Dec. 22 to Jan. 4.
