DepEd Taguig-Pateros denies students abducted by white vans
The Department of Education Schools Division Office of Taguig and Pateros (DepEd TAPAT) denied reports and social media posts that public school students were abducted or kidnapped by persons in white vans.
“DepEd Taguig City and Pateros issues this statement concerning the alleged abduction or kidnapping of children using ‘white vans,’” it said in a statement issued on Feb. 17.

It said no student was abducted or kidnapped based on reports from 62 schools under its supervision.
“According to the report from our 62 schools, there were no reported abduction cases and all learners are duly accounted for,” DepEd TAPAT said.
It reminded the public that unverified posts on Facebook should not be shared.
“In line with this, we want to remind the public to be vigilant and report incidents immediately to proper authorities. We also appeal that stories appearing on Facebook that are not verified should not be shared. Let us all work together to make our schools and learning centers safe,” it said.
The Pateros municipal government earlier belied reports of alleged attempted abduction or kidnapping of students from Pateros Elementary School.
