“It’s always in the early stages, but I support its finalization and completion,” said Tolentino during the recent rally of the administration Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas in this city.
“Lalapit po ‘yung Boracay (Island) sa Iloilo City (Boracay will be closer to Iloilo City),” said Tolentino.
The 210-kilometer expressway will traverse 20 towns in the provinces of Iloilo, Capiz, and Aklan.
The Department of Public Works and Highways-Public Private Partnership Service (DPWH-PPP Service) presented the project to the Iloilo provincial government.
The DPWH-PPP Service said the ICAEx will eliminate congestion on national roads, enhance logistical networks of delivering products, improve emergency responses, and boost tourism development.
Tolentino said that a better transportation infrastructure can help push the potential of Iloilo City for medical tourism.
“Investing in our medical schools and strengthening our infrastructure will not only improve the lives of Ilonggo people but also attract medical tourists, which will boost the local economy,” added Tolentino.
