Timi Aquino, wife of senatorial aspirant Bam Aquino, was mistaken for actress Marjorie Baretto as they went on a house-to-house campaign early this week to rally support for Aquino’s Senate comeback.

In a video that circulated on Facebook, Aquino was heard saying how a supporter thought she was Baretto when she approached her.
“Ay! Si Nay, na-confuse na (Ay, she got confused!),” she told in the video after the lady said, “Ang ganda ni Ma’am Marjorie (Ma’am Marjorie is beautiful).”
To this, Aquino pointed to the actress and joked, “Di ba, nung na-realize nya na hindi ako si Marjorie, bigla niya akong nilayasan (When she realized I was not Marjorie, she walked away from me).”
Aquino was often mistaken for Baretto because of their striking resemblance to each other.
Last Tuesday, Feb. 11, she went to Barangay Krus na Ligas in Diliman, Quezon City with the actress to distribute flyers and posters.
They also engaged with residents and shared with them the former senator’s advocacies, plans, and programs if he secures a Senate seat.
They also posed for photos while flashing the number five sign for Aquino’s official number on the ballot.
The former senator is gunning for a Senate comeback under the advocacy of education.
He plans to expand the Free College Law to cover more students and school expenses. He also wants guaranteed employment for Filipinos.
While he is on the 15th to 18th place in the latest Pulse Asia survey, the former senator is confident his numbers will pick up once the people start seeing him as a good alternative candidate to the current list of senatoriables.
“Naniniwala kami na gaya rin nang dati, gaya noong 2022, nagsimula noong kampanya, pasimula pa lang but by the end of the campaign nayanig iyong buong pundasyon ng politika sa Pilipinas (We believe that, like in 2022, when the campaign started, it was just starting, but by the end of the campaign, it shook the foundation of politics in the Philippines),” he said, referring to former vice president Leni Robredo’s pink rallies in 2022.
