PAGASA: 3 weather systems to bring cloudy skies, rain across most of the Philippines

Three weather systems are expected to bring cloudy skies and rain showers across most parts of the Philippines on Saturday, Feb. 15.

In its latest weather forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the easterlies, shear line, and the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) may bring scattered rains, thunderstorms, and possible flash floods or landslides to the affected areas.

PAGASA said the shear line will affect extreme Northern Luzon, while the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will affect Mindanao. The easterlies, on the other hand, will affect the rest of the country.

The easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms to Metro Manila and the rest of the country, according to PAGASA.

The shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms to Batanes and the Babuyan Islands.

Due to the easterlies, mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, and Quezon will also have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.

The ITCZ, on the other hand, will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms to the Davao Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Sarangani, and Surigao del Sur.

The rest of Mindanao will also experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms or due to moderate to heavy rains at times.
