Ready your tissues as the beautiful yet tragic, and tear-jerking Tony Award-winning rock musical Next to Normal is taking the Manila stage by storm for its Filipino adaptation. Next to Normal presents a family’s immense struggle with loss and mental illness through a captivating artistic vision.
Filipino theatre fans get to experience a great performance as the show explores the themes of love, loss, illness, grief, and the intricacies of family dynamics. This rock musical kicked off the production's 2025 theater season, showcasing both fresh and veteran Filipino actors.
Among the lead stars are Shiela Valderrama and Nikki Valdez, who will be alternating for the role of Diana Goodman. OJ Mariano and Floyd Tena will alternate in the role of the husband, Dan. Mariano, Sheena Belarmino, and Jam Binay will play Natalie Goodman.
Next to Normal is presented under the direction of Sandbox’s managing artistic director Toff de Venecia and musical direction by Ejay Yatco. You can catch it at the Power Mac Center Blackbox Theater in Ayala Malls Circuit Makati City. It will run up to Feb. 23
