Francis Casey Alcantara and Thai partner Pruchya Isaro fell short in their title bid at the Bahrain Ministry of Interior Tennis Challenger after yielding into the quarterfinals on Friday, Feb. 14.

The unseeded pair fought back in the second set but lost their steam to succumb to hard-serving rivals Ivan Liutarevich and France’s Luca Sanchez, 6-2, 7-5, in this Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Challenger Tour event.
Alcantara and Isaro kept it close in the second frame when they tied it at 5-all, but Liutarevich and Sanchez quickly pounced on and claimed the next two games and eventually the match victory.
Liutarevich and Sanchez eventually went on to win their semifinal match against second seeded rivals Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Vijay Sundar Prashanth of India, 6-3, 7-5 (5), to book a finals meeting with unseeded Vitaliy Sachko of Ukraine and Beibit Zhukayev of Kazakhstan.
Alcantara has yet to win a title in the ATP Challenger Tour, although he has accumulated multiple doubles crown -- 25 to be exact -- in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Futures scene.
