Have you taken a look at your Home Screen lately? The first month of 2025 is over, so your customizations should be all set. What’s on your screen right now?
I’ve kept mine pretty simple. In a ‘Reduce Interruptions’ focus mode, you can see nine apps on a single page.
Here’s what I have:
Messages and Signal: My main messaging apps. I don’t use Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, or Viber.
Safari, Mail, & Camera: All the stock Apple apps. I also have Halide, Firefox, Fastmail, and ProtonMail, but the stock ones are my go-to apps.
Grab: The ride-sharing and food delivery app.
NetnewsWire and Apple News: My main source of news.
Tapestry: An app that aggregates Bluesky, Mastodon, Micro.blog, YouTube, RSS, and more, feeds. I love it because it’s only for consumption and it helps me stay focused.
Postee a Shortcut for Posting: I wrote a shortcut to post to my Mastodon, Bluesky, and Micro.blog accounts. I don’t use Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or X — I don’t have accounts on those surveillance platforms.
Smart Stack widget: Halide, Batteries, Calendar, Fitness, and Siri Suggestions on auto-rotation.
How about you? What’s your Home Screen like?
