Drug pusher nabbed in Valentine's Day buy-bust

CEBU CITY – No romantic dinners or sweet moments for this 30-year-old man as he spent his Valentine’s Day in jail after he was arrested in a buy-bust operation here on Friday morning, Feb. 14.

The suspect, Darwin, was apprehended by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Regional Special Enforcement Team, the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit Special Operation Unit, and Mabolo Police Station in Sitio Tonggo, Barangay Banilad.

The suspect was in the target list of the PDEA-Central Visayas.

Seized from the suspect was 20 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P136,000.

Leia Alcantara, information officer of PDEA-7, said the suspect was considered elusive as it took four months of case buildup before the arrest was made.

The suspect was allegedly capable of selling 20 to 50 grams of shabu a week.
