President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. addressed the beneficiaries of the “Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas para sa 4Ps” job fair during a visit on Thursday, Feb. 13.
An initiative of the Office of the President, this is joint program between the DSWD and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) that aims to address the needs of those who are set to exit the government’s 4Ps programs by assisting them to become self-sufficient.
Majority of the beneficiaries are from Iloilo City with 2,344.
The remaining 339 are from four towns in Iloilo province -- Pavia, Santa Barbara, Oton, and Leganes.
These beneficiaries attained the Employment Assistance Fund with a maximum of P5,000 cash aid.
This can be used by beneficiaries to pay for pre-employment requirements such as Philippine National Police (PNP) clearance, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) clearance, medical exams, birth certificates, or school diplomas.
The DSWD Sustainable Livelihood Program also provided assistance to those who were hired on the spot.
