The Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office reported that 459 loose firearms were confiscated and surrendered in five months from September 2024 to January 2025.

Nueva Ecija police chief Police Col. Ferdinand Germino said 100 loose firearms were confiscated in 83 search warrant operations where 75 suspects were apprehended.
One-hundred twenty-one small arms and light weapons were placed under safekeeping under the Commission on Elections gun ban and Revitalized Katok program.
Two-hundred thirty-eight small arms and light weapons were voluntarily surrendered through the Balik Baril program.
Germino said the crackdown is an initiative crucial in crime prevention, public safety, and ensuring peace and order across the province.
He also said these accomplishments align with the directives of PRO-3 chief Police Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo and highlights their firm commitment to eliminating the dangers posed by illegal firearms especially during this critical election period.
