Mayor Weslie “Wes” Gatchalian officiated the mass wedding ceremony at the Valenzuela City People’s Park Amphitheater in Barangay Karuhatan.
According to the city’s Public Information Office, the event included 124 couples from District 1 and 112 from District 2.
Before the ceremony, the couples attended a family planning seminar and marriage counseling to secure their marriage licenses.
The city government provided bridal bouquets, a photo booth with souvenirs, a buffet reception, and a honeymoon package for the newlyweds.
Among the newlyweds were Amelita and Rodrigo Buizon, both 68 years old, who found love again after being widowed, making them one of the oldest couples to marry in this year's ceremony.
The event was also attended by Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar, Vice Mayor Lorie Natividad-Borja, City Councilors, Mayor Tiffany Gatchalian, District Programs Director Kenneth Gatchalian, Dr. Katherine Martinez, and former Councilor Rovin Feliciano.
The Kasalang Bayan is part of the city’s annual Valentine’s celebration and one of the key events leading up to Valenzuela’s 27th Charter Day.
